Kriya Yoga - the technique to release karma

Dec 16, 2011

Kriya Yoga is the sacred spiritual science born in India millennia ago, which includes certain meditation techniques whose regular practice leads to the realization of God. The Sanskrit root of kriya is kri which means to do, act and react; that same root is found in the word karma, the natural principle of cause and effect. Thus, Kriya Yoga means union (Yoga) with the infinite through a certain action or rite (kriya). Kriya Yoga is a type of Raja Yoga or king of systems Paramahansa Yogananda of Yoga or complete system, was extolled by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. The science of Kriya Yoga was revived by Mahavatar Babaji and spread in the West by Paramahansa Yogananda, Founder of Self Realization Fellowship in the USA and present in many countries. Paramahansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi he indicates that “it is a simple psychophysiological method and an instrument by means of which human evolution can be accelerated. The experienced yogi transmutes his cells into pure energy. Elijah, Jesus, Kabir and other prophets were masters in the use of Kriya, or a similar technique, by means of which they made their bodies materialize and dematerialize at will.“ Kriya Yoga is a form of scientific meditation, Yogananda it integrated all the yogic teachings into one, that is, into something that we could learn and apply in our lives for people of all cultures, but especially suitable for Westerners. The yogi who faithfully follows this technique is gradually freed from his karma, that is, from the just chain of balance between causes and effects. The practice of Kriya Yoga calms the mind and body by acting directly on energy and consciousness, which helps to perceive a conscious union with divinity, accelerating human evolution. Among the many benefits obtained from the practice of Kriya Yoga, these are the most important:
  • Freeing attention from the turbulence of thoughts, emotions, and sensory perceptions
  • Overcoming bad mental habits
  • inner clarity
  • Deep peace and harmony with one's own soul and with the cosmic spirit or God
