Yoga outdoors in summer

Aug 19, 2011

As we move into summer, warm days typically bring yogis outdoors, and whether it's the park or the beach, you can always find a space to practice. The practice of Yoga in nature is becoming more and more common, and is as old as the practice of Yoga itself. Sadhana. Yoga practiced anywhere is highly beneficial to health, but outdoors, and especially in green surroundings, the benefits can be greater. Scientists have shown that exposure to sunlight improves eyesight and decreases the chance of poor vision. Another benefit of practicing outdoors is the possibility of absorbing Vitamin D, although it is recommended that you only expose yourself for 10 to 20 minutes and apply sunscreen. Researchers have also found cognitive benefits associated with time spent in nature, including improvements in direct attention and cognitive performance, decreased mental fatigue, increased mental clarity, and a greater sense of well-being. In the different parks and beaches of all the cities of the world, groups of yoga practice and other related activities come together. Find yours and feel the benefits with direct experience! Namaste, Nina
