How to overcome the polarity in you to feel at peace and serenity

May 28, 2013

When reading the title, a big question may have arisen. What is this polarity thing? La polarity it is the division that we have made of the world and of ourselves. Since the human being has fragmented reality into two poles, left/right, masculine/feminine, light/darkness. And it is not that they do not exist, but that they are not as polar as we have been able to think. In fact, reality is subdivided into much more than two poles, but our mind insists on thinking of polarity. As if we could not be more than two opposite poles. The reality is that life has a multitude of colors, shapes and materials. The truth is that animals and plants, as well as our children, do not see the world the same as us, polar. If not that they come to be able to perceive the world as a global set of "things". The great truth is that Health goes through the integration and recovery of everything we are until we can transcend it and understand life without words or labels. What is it if not Polarity? One more label, by which we understand ourselves and what surrounds us. A label with which to control what is uncontrollable, a label with which to stop the true scope of who we really are. Many techniques have been used for this integration. Among them Yoga. In all the branches that I have been able to experience, yoga works polarity and integración so that we can transcend it. Here are 4 keys that Hatha Yoga provides us with which you can work easily at home. KEY 1 # Choose double asanas (postures) The double asanas (postures that are performed on both sides) help us to work each of the poles that are contained in our body, left, right, masculine, feminine. An example: KEY 2 # After the double asanas, use asanas that integrate the previous work. This means that the two poles are working at the same time. An example: KEY 3 # Pranayamas (breathing exercises) they are a fantastic idea to work on polarity and for its integration. You can use a pranayama like surya bhedana or any other pranayama that works first one side and then the other. And after these pranayamas we could use for example Nadi Shodana Pranayama which will help us to integrate the poles. Just as we can enjoy the multiple benefits of these beautiful techniques. KEY 4 # sit and meditate. It is extremely important to be able to sit down for 10 or 15 minutes a day in order to be able to integrate, not only what has happened to us in our day, but also everything that we are and that we have not been able to see due to spending so much time in the outside world. So sit back and contemplate. Article written by: Noelia Gonzalez Calatayud (Psychologist-Yoga Teacher), Integlia Center Murcia
