Superfoods are those foods that naturally contain a large amount of antioxidants and phytonutrients - chemical substances present in plants - even when consumed in small amounts. Products from the land such as broccoli, garlic, and berries, or from the water such as sprirulina, help eliminate toxins, help reduce the risk of heart disease or cancer, and fight aging.
The main superfoods are of plant origin - with exceptions such as fish fat whose Omega 3 prevents coronary diseases - they are never processed, and it is better to consume them raw or barely cooked in water to avoid losing nutrients. Unlike vitamins or food supplements taken in isolation, superfoods provide a series of nutrients that balance each other and prevent the typical imbalances that usually occur when we take vitamins separately.
