In a lying or sitting position, with one hand on the abdomen and the other on the side (optional):- Exhale completely.
- Inhale filling the abdomen first, letting it expand naturally.
- Keep inhaling and feel the chest area expand (ribs open).
- When the chest is full, inhale a little more by lifting the collarbones and chest.
- Hold your breath for a few moments (relaxing your shoulders and face), and then proceed with the exhalation process.
- Release the air from the lungs starting at the top (clavicular area), then the rib cage, and finally the abdominal area.
- Let the lungs remain empty for a few moments, before restarting.
- Exhale in the reverse order. First relaxing the clavicles and letting the chest drop, then contracting the rib cage a little more until the lungs are completely emptied. Finally relax the abdomen.
