Interview with Yoga en Red, the digital magazine of Yoga

Dec 05, 2014

In just two years, YogaenRed.com It has become the main means of disseminating yoga in Spain, with an average of 1.500 visits per day. This online magazine publishes new information every day about the activities carried out by the centers, articles by experts and teachers, interviews, events that are held... We spoke with Jimena Mas and Pepa Castro, founders and editors of Network Yoga. how did it come about YogaenRed.com? The two of us worked making the first yoga magazine that came out in Spain, the Spanish edition of the American magazine Yoga journal (Pepa was the director and Jimena the graphic designer). The Spanish publisher that published that magazine went into crisis, and we got out of there. But we left with the clear idea of continuing to dedicate ourselves to spreading the best of yoga. A year later, in October 2012, we launched Network Yoga in digital and online format. What was and is your relationship with yoga? That first contact making Yoga journal it allowed us to know yoga in its many dimensions, and it stuck with us forever. In addition, we established relationships with "yoga people", and that was what ended up conquering us, because they seemed to us to be people with an exceptional human quality. So we wanted to continue there, linked to that wonderful energy. We are proud to have the support of so many renowned professors, teachers, experts, who collaborate with their articles in this work of spreading everything that yoga has to do with the art of living. What is the reason for the success of network yoga, in your opinion? As is always the case, we believe it is due to a mix of factors. The first is the popularity that yoga is acquiring on its own merits, at a time when its values are more necessary than ever. The second factor is work: in order to have readers on the Internet, you have to provide a lot of new information and quality content every day of the week. Contents that in our case are largely due to the very quality of the firms that collaborate in Network Yoga. The third factor is independence: we have no center, no style, no lineage behind us; we are journalists and therefore we communicate and disseminate guided by criteria of objectivity. That inspires reliability among readers. what does it mean to you network yoga, where do you get your motivation to make the magazine? Our strength is our readers, those who encourage us to continue spreading the excellence of yoga and meditation. We are not yoga teachers or great experts, nor do we claim to be. Our role, as communication professionals who love and practice yoga, is to serve as a channel for the transmission of information, knowledge and messages. We plant in the land of YogaenRed.com the seeds of wisdom and yogic inspiration that others create, so that they can reach and nurture as many people as possible. Can you imagine a world where most beings practiced meditation and yoga? That dream is our gift: to make yoga known so that its message of peace, love and harmony within oneself and outwards, can catch on and spread more and more.
