Krishna Das – Live in Barcelona

July 14, 2010

Casa del Tibet Barcelona, 13.07.2010 Yesterday I was in a Kirtan workshop for the first time in my life. For those who are not As we are familiar, Kirtan is a call-response song with a leader and the audience responds with a musical background of tabla, cymbal or violin. I love Indian music, the voice of the zither, the sound and rhythm of tabla. I also like to listen to the chants, but I have never been affected as deeply as this time. Live Kirtan is a completely different and impressive experience which I highly recommend! The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate, like in the living room at home. It was a real honor to have Krishna Das so close, compared to, for example, a Kirtan he performed in Brazil where he sang before 12.000 people. We started with the Kirtan and once the songs were over, the audience had the opportunity to ask questions Krishna Das, who told us about his spiritual path and his experience with his Guru Neem Karoli Baba. In short, the Kirtan workshop was an excellent mix of singing and conversation. That night had a very positive effect on me and I was full of energy: the smell of the incense, the light in the concert hall, the thousands of golden Tibetan Buddhas on the wall, the people and last but not least - Krishna Das with his wonderful voice and calm... and much more, which I cannot express in words. I promise that the next singing workshop I will be there again... Namaste, Nilu
